The Dunaways - March 2003

Our frenzy began in Nashville last month working on the final chapter of song selection for our project that we will be doing tracks for very soon. During that visit, I enjoyed getting to know Twila Labar. She is such a talented songwriter, singer, and musician. We also began our search for a more comfortable way to make road trips beyond the conversion van we had been traveling in for the past year.
We live in East Central Mississippi and in one week we had been in both Nashville and Dallas shopping buses. On the last trip we were back to square one and feeling so frustrated. It seemed that God was closing every door that had bus written on it.... (remember my article last month about doors) I was already refusing God's plan and insisting on my plan...but I soon gave in.
On the way home we saw an RV dealership in Shreveport LA and pulled in to take a look.
Boy did we ever have a surprise when we stepped aboard a diesel pusher motor home. It really seemed to be quite - well actually it was quite nice. Gee I was so confused. "It was supposed to be a bus Lord". After my husband prayed and I cried for three days we bought the first Diesel Pusher we had looked at. I insisted that we were getting it only temporarily but it would meet our needs just fine. Our first trip was to Memphis it was so wonderful for us to have a convenient place to get dressed and rest. I think it is growing on me.
The other things we are into besides the project and the new coach is the church we pastor. We are we having such a great and mighty move of God lately. Our little church is really growing. We will soon be into doing an Easter drama. When we bought the coach some folks in the community started asking if we were resigning our church. Our replyabsolutely not! We had never even considered it. Why do people have such a hard time thinking that God can use you in more than one ministry? When - and if - God says move on then and only then will we move on.
Other than that, we do have a new single in the works. "With His Arms Wide Open" It is being released through the wonderful folks at Mission House Music Group. During the past year we have had the privilege of meeting Brian and Allison Speer and John and Kathy Mathis. What wonderful people they are! They have been nothing but gracious and kind to us and we appreciate the work they are doing through their ministries and companies.
So many people have blessed us tremendously including the folks at Daywind along with Phillip Emery and Rebecca Peck at DJ Man Promotions. They have all helped us get our music from Born Again Experience to the public over the past year and we so appreciate it. They have all been so great to work with.
I can't help but brag a little on our Family Music Group. Folks if you have not heard "The Praters" those kids can sing! Les Butler did a wonderful job on their project and The Dunaways are next in line for a miracle!
God has placed a 22 year old young man in our ministry. His name is Lawayne Rials. He is our triple 7th cousin. Be watching for what the Lord has planned for Lawayne.
I have made it a point to try and offer some word of encouragement to somebody with my little article here every month and I am thankful for a place that I can do just that. So just remember in this time of uncertainty, when we hear of earthquakes, wars and rumors of wars. Jesus said when you see all of this approaching fear not! We don't have to be afraid. God has it all under control.
