Amy Roth - Oct 04

No stranger to Gospel Music, Amy has sung with many CCM artists before being introduced to Southern Gospel through her later experience with The Nelons. After singing with the likes of Alvin Slaughter, Babbie Mason, and others, Amy Roth was thrust right into the heart of the Gospel Industry when she accepted the soprano position with the Nelons in the early 90’s. As basically a newcomer to SG, Amy still jokes about the time her dad (and manager Jim Roth) called her and told that she had gotten a call for an audition with a group called “The Nelsons!”
Delivering energy and excitement in their concerts for over 5 years, Amy met many people and SG fans all over the country; winning their hearts with her crystal-clear vocals, captivating smile, and warm Christian personality!
After completing her tenure with the Nelons , Amy has continued her work through her dynamic and rather busy solo ministry- Amy’s Ministries for the past 5 years. A popular guest soloist and campmeeting / revival singer, Amy has been extremely blessed since being introduced to the Southern Gospel genre merely just 10 years ago.
“Every year God is opening more and more exciting new doors,” said Amy recently. 2004 has even been more eventful than ever as Amy and husband, Steven welcomed a new addition to their family in the form of Katy Helyn born on January 7.
You could even say that Katy Helyn has already proven to be inspirational to the ministry - - Amy’s latest project on Lamp’s Gospel Heritage label is titled, “Little Blessings” a collection of Gospel lullabys and childrens hymns.
“In all of my career, this project was a first for us at Lamp,” says Lamp President, Mike Pillow, “as far as we know it has never been done in Southern Gospel. If you can picture the soothing voice of Amy Roth, singing lullabys – it would be easy for anyone to be sung to sleep! Ha.” He continues, “All humor aside, it is an excellent project and many folks have got them for grandkids, relatives, even those whose children are grown – it’s a really great concept!”
2004 is continuing to hold some exciting, special events for Amy, as the stage is already set for the First Annual Amy Roth Homecoming Concert at her home church – Lost Mountain Baptist in Powder Springs, GA. Where she sings in the choir and is as active as possible.
Her homecoming concert is October 15th and will feature: The Florida Boys and Pure Harmony of Gainesville, GA. All are invited to attend. For event info: amyroth.net

Amy also divides her time singing with a trio from North Georgia called, “Pure Harmony.” They are also getting quite a bit of attention in their own right, including an awesome recent performance during the NQC Artist Spotlight showcase. The group, led by popular area promoter, Wayne Bartlett will also be featured on Amy’s Homecoming concert in October.

Crabb Family - Oct 04

The Crabb Family was scheduled to host a CrabbFest at NQC on Saturday afternoon. As plans were in the works, Mike Bowling and Kathy Crabb came up with the idea to honor Gerald Crabb and began to plan a very fitting tribute for such a talented songwriter. They invited Gold City, the Hoskins Family, the Bowling, the McRaes, Aaron Wilburn, Karen Harding, and several other artists who have recorded Gerald Crabb’s songs along with some of his closest friends. The Crabb kids and spouses also began to make plans for special presentations and tributes. Still, there was a void with Terah’s absence.
God knows what He is doing! Just before the Crabb Family’s performance on Friday evening, Terah and her husband Jonathan were reunited with the Crabb Family. Terah and her family spent time together catching up and Gerald and Kathy saw her baby for the first time! What a reunion celebration!
Terah stayed over and surprised her dad by singing with her family on his tribute. One of the highlights of the day was when she stepped to the mic and sang “He’ll Make A Way.” There was not a dry eye in the house- especially in the family section. God orchestrated every step better than anyone could have planned. God answered many prayers! Gerald Crabb was honored in more ways than one and concluded the afternoon with the statement, “I could die a happy man today.”The Crabb Family have announced that, beginning October 1, Terah will re-join them for Crabb Gathering dates, a concert tour in which the Crabb Family, Mike Bowling, and Gerald Crabb all come together for a special concert. Mike Bowling and Gerald Crabb both schedule solo appearances, while the Crabb Family continues to maintain one of the busiest schedules of any Christian artist touring today. The Quicks - Oct 04

How do you weather the storm?
Our family lived on the Gulf Coast for 18 years – some of that time in Biloxi , Mississippi stationed at Keesler Air Force Base, and the last 16 years at Eglin AFB, Florida in the panhandle. Hurricanes are not anything new to the folks in that area. They pack up or board up – some drive up and some hole up. We have done it all! When Tim and I were first married, I managed to load everything we owned in the back of a Ford Ranger. The last couple of storms forced us to evacuate, while Tim had to stay on base and work Mission Control Center . From June to November of each year, we knew that it was possible for hurricanes to hit and we also knew our choices of dealing with each storm. I have found that as a card-carrying member of the human race, we will ALL face storms in life. Trials come in all sorts – sickness and disease, death of a loved one, unexpected financial burdens- even PEOPLE can be a burden - since none of us are perfect! Some storms are small like tropical depressions and some storms can SEND us into depression! That is... if we let it. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” For those who know the Lord, He has promised to never leave or forsake us. He is faithful – faithful to carry us through the storms of life. My heart goes out to people who are suffering – life can be very difficult at times. I can't imagine weathering four hurricanes of that magnitude in one season - or enduring many of the trials I see others go through as they share their stories with us on the road. Sometimes I feel very helpless, but I can show you a Saviour who is not!
Well, a Miracle has happened! We actually finished our latest project entitled, “What Are You Waiting For!” Our family had so much fun with this recording that we hated to see it end! Ordering information can be obtained by calling 615-459-5119 or email at .
