The road eventually took it's toll upon my life, so with the Lord's guidance, I made the decision to come off the road. I became an engineer at a studio in Rome Georgia, and began to work on my degree in business management. But shortly thereafter, I received a phone call from some friends of mine who were in need of a tenor. Of course, my first reaction was one of hesitance, but the more we began to talk and pray about this, the more I began to realize that it was okay to move forward and accept the position as tenor for The Old Paths."
Peace begins his new position immediately.

The Glovers Welcome New Members

The Glovers are happy to welcome Candise Dildine to the group as a third-part vocalist. Candise has been around Southern Gospel her whole life while singing with her family. In addition, the Glovers also added Dallas Pruitt as the group’s brand new piano player. Dallas is 22 years old and is also Candise’s fiancé. Dallas will also be providing additional vocal help as well.
Dallas and Candise are filling in the spots that Tony & Dawn Meacham left vacant earlier this year. The couple was with the Glovers for four years.
Kathy Glover of the Glovers said, “Several months back, we started entertaining the idea of bringing a new piano player on board, but we really didn’t give it a whole lot of thought. We talked about how nice it would be to have someone talented enough to play songs ‘off the cuff’, add a little background as we share testimony, be able to fill in during times of invitation, and travel with us to all of our events. This was a discussion from time to time, but we really never went into true pursuit mode. However, as God always seems to do, He threw Dallas right in our path. We are very excited about having him aboard and anticipating what God will do with his testimony as well.”
Adam Glover of the Glovers said, “Candise has just stepped up to the plate and filled a void that we had when Tony & Dawn left the group. She is doing such a fantastic job, and we know that God is going to use this talented couple in many wonderful ways.”
The Glovers have recently been recording vocals for their upcoming national release. The new album, tentatively titled One Good Reason, is being recorded at UpFront Studios in Nashville, Tennessee and features the engineering talents of Terry Thompson.
One Good Reason will feature new songs by some of Southern Gospel’s most popular songwriters such as Chris Binion, Zane King, Del Way (who penned the Glovers’ breakout hit “Hurtin’ People”), and Eric Horner. Also, Kathy Glover co-wrote two songs for the project – “Hidden Secrets” (co-written with Chris Binion) and “Saving My Life” (co-written with Zane King). Both of the songs deal with Kathy’s personal testimony and ministry surrounding abortion.
The first single release from One Good Reason is “Mercy Came Down”, which was written by Del Way.

LeFevre Quartet Performs For Guido Evangelistic Association

LeFevre Quartet on Charles Stanley’s In Touch TV Program Again

LeFevre lead singer and songwriter David Staton stated, "We were singing this weekend in South Georgia and were in the middle of a sound check when the show aired, so we weren't able to see it. Monday morning when we checked our email at the office, people all across the country had emailed us. They all had different stories, but they were all at the end of their rope and after hearing the song, God spoke to them and their lives were forever changed! I won't bore you with the details with what I was going through when Cheryl Rogers and I penned that song, but I knew that God would use it in a big way when at the very moment the lyrics were written down, God used it to minister to me in my situation! I don't know how it feels to win a Grammy Award for writing a song, but I can assure you, it can't compare to reading those emails and watching people night after night do whatever it takes 'To Get To Jesus'!"

Crossroad Partners with Holt International

“I wanted our ministry to team up with a faith-based organization, and with Holt’s rich heritage I felt like the relationship would only grow stronger as time passed,” said Anthony Facello, group owner. “It is our duty as Christians to take care of the needy. I believe we are supposed to be a light to the world, and reaching out to orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children is a wonderful way to demonstrate the love of Jesus”
Holt International, based in Eugene, Oregon, recently celebrated fifty years of caring for homeless children and uniting them with permanent families. Holt was founded by Harry and Bertha Holt who learned about Korean children having to grow up in orphanages following the Korean War. The Holts felt that God led them to adopt eight of those children, an effort that required a special act of the U.S. Congress. In 1956 the Holts established their organization that has grown to help homeless children around the world.

Florida Boys Announce Retirement
Les Beasley, manager of the Florida Boys, has informed the Harper Agency that because of health problems, advanced ages and lack of physical stamina for the rigors of the road it has become necessary for The Florida Boys to retire. The last scheduled date for the Florida Boys will be Sunday, July 22nd.Les Beasley, Glen Allred and Derrell Stewart have each performed with The Florida Boys for over fifty years. Les told Ed and Jeff Harper, "I am 79 and Glen and Derrell are in their seventies and none of us are in the best of health; worn out may be the right word. We know that it is time for us to slow down to a much less demanding life style. This is something we sincerely regret."
All concert promoters and churches that have the Florida Boys scheduled after July 22nd have been informed of this decision. The Harper Agency is assisting them in trying to schedule other artists to fill the dates that were scheduled after July 22nd.
Ed Harper, president of The Harper Agency states, "Even though we knew this day would be sooner rather than later, it is still hard to imagine The Florida Boys will not be on the road any longer. It has truly been an honor and blessing for the Harper family to have represented the Florida Boys for nearly forty years, dating back to when our late father, Herman Harper, booked them when he was with Don Light Talent. The Harper Agency and Florida Boys truly appreciate all the concert promoters and churches who booked them over the years during their long and successful journey. We wish all the guys the best as they enter the next chapter of their lives."

"We have been working with Lari for years." says Johnny. "I worked with Lari on The Love Special program with Nancy Harmon for many years. We also worked together with Rusty and The Goodmans during the 80's. When the time came to work with an orchestrator on our family recordings with Homeland's Welcome Home label in 1989, I went straight to Lari. It was a unanimous decision to have Lari on board with River Bend doing all of our orchestrations and scores. He is also a production genius, which adds to the creativity in the company."
In addition to working with us at River Bend, Lari Goss still carries many artists through the process of recording a project or handling orchestral arrangements, most of which are on the charts or filling concert halls each week.
Lari Goss is best known within the Christian music industry in the areas of music production, orchestral arranging, and keyboard artistry. He has produced critically acclaimed projects for such artists as the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, the Cathedrals, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Anthony Burger, Greater Vision, Christ Church Choir, the Martins, Larnelle Harris, Phil Driscoll, the Gaither Vocal Band, Janet Paschal, the Hoppers, and many others.

His arrangements have been heard in countless venues around the world, from the stage of Radio City Music Hall to Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. Word Entertainment Officially Announces Re-launch of Canaan Records

NASHVILLE, TN – June 8, 2007 – On Tuesday, June 6th, Word Entertainment announced the re-launch of legendary Southern Gospel label, Canaan Records, at a sales conference that took place at the “W” in Franklin, TN. Word also took this opportunity to showcase their first group to sign, Southern Gospel music favorite, The Hoppers.
As a subsidiary of Word, Canaan Records began in 1965 as an outlet for Southern Gospel music. It included Southern Gospel greats such as The Happy Goodman Family, The Florida Boys, The Inspirations, The Nelons, and The Cathedrals. As of Tuesday, this legendary label is back in full swing with The Hoppers, who have been deemed “America’s favorite family of Gospel Music.” As Word seeks to connect Southern Gospel’s legendary past to it’s exciting future, no other group could fit the mold more perfectly.
This year, The Hoppers are celebrating their 50th year in the Southern Gospel music industry. Theirs is a past steeped in tradition where in the early years of “The Hopper Brothers and Connie,” they often performed with many renowned groups of the past. Now, with Claude, Connie, their sons Mike, Dean, and Dean’s wife Kim, this family has come full circle into the future of Southern Gospel music.
Their aptly named brand new album, The Ride, will be released under Canaan Records on September 4th, 2007. This record exemplifies the true spirit of Southern Gospel music, with its tight-knit harmonies and unwavering boldness to spread the message of the Gospel, while at the same time bringing a freshness that will speak to the hearts of future generations.
Dave Clark, a well-known figure in the Christian music industry as well as accomplished songwriter, has been selected by Word Entertainment CEO, Jim Van Hook, to take the reigns of this new venture. Dave is being quoted as saying, “As a young songwriter back in the 70’s, my first cuts were on the Canaan label and many of my songwriting heroes wrote for Canaanland music. Men like Marvin Norcross helped pave the way for many of us through the years. I realize with the legacy of the past there comes a responsibility for the future. That’s why the Hoppers are the perfect group to begin this next chapter. They represent all of the things that attracted me to gospel music so many years ago. Their commitment to quality, integrity, consistency, and a passion for ministry are just a few of the reasons they are still making a difference in their 50th year.”
Part of Dave’s responsibilities will also include overseeing the redevelopment of the Canaanland publishing imprint, which was one
