Improperly set EQ settings, wrong microphone selection and poor gain structure are some of the real causes of people complaining and walking out. They will tell you it was too loud which may have not been the case at all, but was an effect of one of the above mentioned problems
As I sat here pondering what I could possibly write that would be new for the New Year, I couldn?t help but think about all the conversations on the various message boards and E-mail lists concerning the future of Southern Gospel Music. It seems that there are two camps of discussion

In the last two articles we have talked about most of the vowels but there are four more we want to add to those. The first one is the "Short O" sound.
It doesn't matter whether Jesus was actually born on December 25th or not. It's important that we take the time to celebrate that He was born. It's important that we take the time to tell the Christmas Story again to all the children

I can't believe that Christmas time is here again. It is time for all the Christmas Music and a great time to start using those vowel modifications that we have been talking about in last months article. It?s not the gifts that we give at this time of the year that really make a difference. It?s that little effort we make to say something to someone, or that smile we give. As all the kids were hugging Grandpa goodbye, they were really saying hello to a world of help to an old man
CrossWay, The Oak Ridge Boys, Karen Peck and New River, The Ruppes, The Hoppers, Janet Paschal, Jeff and Sheri Easter, and The Martins Updates

The events of September 11, 2001 were merely an amplification of events that happen in daily lives of people all over this country. So, the question that haunted me is this. Do our children know how to pray for their children? In other words, ?Did we teach our kids to pray?? I don?t mean to pray over their meals or before they go to bed, I mean did we teach them how to reach the portals of heaven with their petitions. Did we teach them how to get hold of God and not let go?
How thankful we should be that we have a merciful Heavenly Father Who blesses us each and every day, in so many ways, with bountiful blessings. I know we all have problems, but in the midst of them all, we can still raise our hands and cry, "Still Blessed!" We're blessed with knowing the One Who can lift us up out of all of those problems, or Who will walk with us through every valley

You want to be able to control the amount of vibrato in your singing. When singing in a group where the vibrato of each singer is very different it makes the vocals sound messy
