Happy Holidays to All

Hi Everyone,

Well, we survived the first round of Holidays with Thanksgiving and are looking forward to taking off for a few weeks in December for our Christmas Vacation. But I know that by the time New Years Eve gets here we will be ready to hit the gospel road for another year of singing His praises.

This past month was very busy for us and we made lots of new friends in Missouri and Texas. We absolutely love to go into new areas with our ministry!!! It is so wonderful to sit back and see where the Lord leads us next.

The first weekend of November found us on the Gulf Coast of Alabama - somebody has to sing for the Lord on the beach in Gulf Shores - might as well be us - LOL. But I gotta tell you this story. We were at our last stop for the weekend and we had already sung and were at our product table. Pastor John Hodges came by the table and told me that he had given Dale our check but he felt led to give us another check. Needless to say, I was elated. The check was for $450.00. Here's where it gets good!! On our way home - something happened to the radiator on the bus and we had to have the bus towed - the tow bill was $225.00. Then when we got all the parts and had the bus repaired the total bill including the tow bill was $445.17. Wow - I've shared this story so many times this past month. I'm so glad that Pastor John followed the Lord's lead - He told us in His word that he would take care of us!!! What a true statement.

The second weekend - we were close to home. It was good to see many of our family and friends at our singings in Ballplay, Guntersville and Rainsville, Alabama. We were even home before 10:00pm on Sunday night - we didn't know what to do with ourselves!!

Our third weekend we headed to Charleston, Missouri. I had gotten really bad sick on the way up but I had told the guys that I wasn't gonna tell anyone that I was sick - I was gonna smile - go in and sing and then go straight back to the bus - nope, it didn't work that way. We had sung about five songs ' and that was all she wrote. I had to leave ' I mean I was so sick that they took me to the Doctor and got shots and medicine and the church had special prayer. I have been singing for about twenty years and this is the first time I just couldn't make it. But here is the kicker. We sang in Cape Girardeau, Missouri about two months ago ' the only other time we had been to Missouri -and there was a lady by the name of Mandy that bought our CD. This lady knew all of our songs. She comes on stage with David and Dale while I'm at the Doctor's office and they said she ripped it!!! They have already been kidding me about Mandy taking my place!!! That's OK - she was definitely a God Send that night. Pastor John Archie and his congregation at the Elm Street Baptist Church were so understanding - they will never know just how much I appreciated them being so nice during my sickness!!! They are really a great church and awesome Christians. From there we headed to Verona, Mississippi to the Woodmen of the World Building with such great singers as the Masters (we love you Donald), Still Blessed and our great friend Brenda Whitlock. We met Brenda and Sid about a year ago and we fell in love with them immediately. They are true blue friends!!! It wasn't too long of a ride from Verona to Tupelo, Mississippi to be with our friends at Open Door Baptist Church and Brewer Baptist Church. We were off on that Sunday morning and "snuk in" on Pastor Cason and his congregation for the Sunday morning service - what an awesome day. Then it was on to Brewer Baptist for a combined worship service on Sunday night with our bestest friends "Southern Image". They sang and then we sang and then had a combined group between the two of us and it was just a great Sunday service. They are even talking about making it an annual event. We sure hope so.

The Texas trip found us in Waco and Eddy with promoter Flo Owens. Ms. Flo is a really special lady. We spent the entire weekend with her and sang at the Kendrick Lane Baptist Church, Trinity Lutheran School with Shiloh Quartet, Surrendered and Kaley Caperton, and at the First Baptist Church of Eddy for their Sunday morning worship and then their combined service on Sunday night. Thanks to Pastor D.F. Barnett and Music Minister Jim Parker for making our day complete with song, fellowship and a great lunch!!

Friday after Thanksgiving found us in Gainesville, Georgia at the Crossmen's Homecoming - these guys have been friends of ours for about twenty years and we were honored to be a part of their special night. Then it was on to the big Frank Arnold Singing in Hanceville, Alabama. I was elated to be asked to judge the talent search on Saturday morning - there is lots of good talent - it was sooo hard to pick a winner - everyone did so good. Then the singing that night included Jeff & Sheri Easter, Karen Peck & New River, Perry's, Aaron Wilburn, Brian Free & Assurance, Signature Sound and New Ground. Awesome singing - Frank definitely knows how to promote a classy event. We finished the month in Bowden, Georgia at Corinth Baptist Church. It was so good to see Alice Smith again and appreciate the opportunity to sing for her at Corinth.

As you can tell, it's been an awesome month with great singings. Hope to see ya'll very soon at a singing in your area. Make sure that you check out our web site at http://www.newgroundministries.com and come and be with us when you can.

Until He Comes,

Robbie Maxwell

Hello New Ground! My husband and I saw you a few months ago in Tupelo with Tony Gore and then again in Hanceville last weekend. After Tupelo, David seemed much more subdued at Hanceville. smile Keep up the good work. Glad to see you were not in a cast at Hanceville.
