Do they offer a medicine for the post Christmas blues? I can't bring myself to take the Christmas tree down. Carol and I have worked all year long to get to enjoy this year's holiday season and 1 month isn't long enough. And to make things worse, we both have to go back to work. I will be gone a lot during the month of January and Carol and has some pretty long hours as well. Poor old Baxter will be looking for a new home, I am sure.
I guess I should not complain. All of our families are healthy again this year. We were able to work and pay for the gifts that we bought. We were able to get into the car and drive to the store, to get the gifts that we gave. We were able to prepare food and treats for our friends who came by to visit. So, I guess I really have no complaints.
I have a wonderful wife and family. I have a wonderful home that's comfortable to live in. I have food to eat and a warm bed at night. I have a lot to be thankful for. You know, there's no reason to have the post Christmas Blues after all!
And no, I haven't made any New Year's resolutions. I quit making those a long time ago. I never could keep them.
In my heart though, I long for a closer walk with God. WOW! Isn't that what we are all longing for? That ever so close relationship with our Creator. A relationship so close that we can feel the very breath from his mouth and the warmth from his body.
But you see, we get so wrapped up! So involved in our earthly relationships that we just forget about the most important relationship of all! God the Creator!
Lord, in this New Year, help me to grow closer to you,
Help me to understand your ways,
Help me to be a Godly husband,
Help me to be a Christian example to those around me,
Lord, let me brighten someone's day
And most of all, I pray that my song and testimony would impact the life of
someone who doesn't know you!
Father, I am eternally grateful to you!!!!
Many blessings in the New Year,
Curt Davis
