About a year ago, I began seeking God about recording a children's CD. It is something I've always wanted to do, and something my mom has suggested many times. We love kids.
It seems that where Satan is at work in this world causing turmoil and destruction, the children are usually the innocent victims caught in the midst of the hurting.

With that in mind, I began asking God if I could record something for the kids. I wanted to tell them about His love, but needed confirmation that He was leading me to do it in this way.

So, I asked Him to give me a new song. Now, this is no small request. I have written songs, but I don't write songs every day, not every week, not even every month. Though I'd love to! No, my songs are few and far between. If God could trust me to write one whenever I choose, I'd probably get a bigger ego and start taking all the credit. Whatever the reason, I can't just sit down and write a song any time I please. I am thankful that God has helped me to write a few. How? Well, it goes something like this: I get inspired with a special idea for a song, I ponder and scribble, and hum and scribble, and make a lot of mistakes, and by a miracle He lets it turn out to be a song with a message for someone dear to Him. I love the way God works!

Well, this particular night, He gave me a song about a little sheep wandering, shivering and lonely, one of the Shepherd's own sheep whom He loves!

The next day, I went into the studio and began singing it for my husband, Bobby. He began playing along with me on the piano. That evening, I invited Mom and Dad to come and hear it. The Spirit was so sweet that first day with this song! I noticed my mom had tears, and that made me cry.

Two weeks later, Mom told me her story concerning the song. She said that I had written the song she had started to write a month before. This was the first I heard of it. It was during one of those times, like many Christians will go through, when she just felt lost and helpless. She began writing "Lord come find your little lost lamb..." She didn't finish, but this was the plea in the song she had begun. It was a sheep calling out to the Shepherd.

How awesome of God, and just like Him, to answer Mom, his little sheep, with another song which he gave to me to sing for her. It was if God were saying "Yes, I'll carry you. Don't worry. You can trust your Shepherd!"

It may seem unbelievable, but it is true! We serve an amazing, loving God who speaks to His Children!

I took the song as confirmation, and recorded a project just for kids.
The title song is "Every Little Lamb Needs A Shepherd"
