Andalusia, Alabama is the home of this progressive Southern Gospel trio, Fresh Anointing. They have put out a great new project, filled with some wonderful songs.

“Glory Came Down” is a hand clapper from the pen of John Darin Rowsey. This song has a strong beat and is sung with great enthusiasm. Marcia Henry has contributed a beautiful ballad, “I Plead the Blood”.

“On Your Name I Call” has a country feel to it with a strong down beat. This song features Casey Williams, the group’s female vocalist. “Ain’t No Mountain” picks the tempo back up with a bluesy song from the pen of Jerry Don Stiles. Lead singer, David Higgins, delivers a powerful, Southern Rock style vocal on this song.

“Show Me the Way” is a great song that I first heard from the Oak Ridge Boys. David does a great job on this song as well. “Angels Watching Over Me” features all of the group members on this old time spiritual.

David Higgins is featured on a Karen Lynn Hall ballad, “He Gave His Hands”. This song is one of the best cuts on the project with nice orchestration and vocals. “We’re Gonna Rise” is another fun song that gets the toes to tapping.

“Gonna Make a Getaway” is a progressive Southern Gospel song that features Buffalo, NY native, Michael Frank. This style of song seems to be the group’s trademark, with real aggressive vocals.

I was glad to see that the group included the great Gina Vera song, “The Third Voice”. This song is one of the most powerful songs ever written taking on the subject of abortion. The song refers to the unborn child as “The Third Voice”, crying out for the opportunity to live. Casey does a great job on this song and is a highlight of the project.

Fresh Anointing has a very good sound and has put out an enjoyable project. They have a nice mix of songs giving the project variety. This project is worth checking out.

Great Review guys. I encourage everyone to check out their web page and get to know Fresh Anointing. I was at one of the concerts a couple weeks back and it was great. Singing was great but so was the altar service. Thank you being a part of Paradigm Music Group. We are blessed. Tammy Kirkland
