September 10, 2009 (Pasadena, TX) The Harris Family has released a new single to radio. The song, "The God Who Will Provide," was written by group member, Sue Harris. Following the success of Testify, which reached number 64 on the Singing News Top 80 chart for September, this is the second release from their latest project, Rescued.
Sue says this is one of her favorite songs to sing from the album. The Lord gave me this song following a sermon series our pastor preached on the names of God. For a long time, we just referred to the song as the names of God song, but eventually had to come up with a real song title. Sue continues, Our track producer, Art Bain, totally nailed the style I was looking for on this cut. I had always heard the song as having a big-band, jazzy, swing type feel to it, but wanted to keep it southern. Art just shook his head when I told him what I wanted, but somehow, he managed to pull it off perfectly! Sue concludes, The song is quickly becoming a favorite at our concert events. It always brings a smile to faces in the crowd when we get to the chorus and start singing out the names of God. And it brings us such joy to see God take our music and use it to speak to the hearts of all kinds of people going through all kinds of things.
