Seeing Christlike being recognized for their efforts is refreshing. It's hard to imagine that talent like this could be over looked for so long. Well done Christlike, My prayers and support are with you always.

  4.    Debbie ~ 02/02/2005

Congratulations Hopes Call on 6 nominations. You know I believe you deserve it. I'm so proud of all of you. Miss you and love you a lot.

Who determined the web sites? I can think of at least 10 that are much better than the ones you have listed. Some of them never change anything..you can go back week after week, and nothing changes. Is that a good website?

I'm really happy with this years picks. I think you guys did a great job. I really appreciated the attention to traditional as well as progressive SG. This is a well balanced list of nominees. I'm happy for the Jody Brown Indian Family. They deserve this recognition, as well as Hopes Call. Good Luck guys!

    Pauline,

Thanks for noticing the difference in our awards. Our awards are unique in many ways. Our award nominations were the first awards in the SG Industry to be based entirely on accomplishments for the previous year. This means that our award nominations may or may not be similar to the year before and will most likely NOT be similar to more familiar FAN FAVORITE type award nominations. Each individual is nominated based upon a majority of votes received by the SGN Staff. The nominees will then be voted on by SGN website readers starting next week.

All of our nominees have made a significant impact in the industry in one form or another in the year 2004. Are there other artists equally worthy? Absolutely, however, they did not receive the majority of votes for the nomination this year.

If you would like to take some time to read the discussion on the message boards about this very thing, you may see it explained even further.

    Thanks for your inquiry

Thanks for recognizing Three Bridges. I enjoy traditional Southern Gospel music and was also delighted to see the Progressive SG section. After listening to the "Stand Your Ground" album by Three Bridges I was thrilled to hear both kinds of sound come out of one album...Thanks Again Guys!!!!!

    Southern Gospel News folks....great selections.
So many talented people who are singing the
"Good News" and just a select few slots to fill.
Big congatulations to the Jody Brown Indian Family
and their 8 nominations...wow! Look for them to
bless the "socks" off of those folks out in Calif-
ornia with their first West Coast tour this May.

It's possible you might have missed one for male vocalist of the year. Jonathan Drew of Christlike. A pure tenor with a sound like no other.

I just love CrossWay. Everytime we attend one of their concerts we come away with the feeling we have been to a worship service not just a performance. Their harmony is chilling, words are always easy to understand, (isn't that the point of songs?)breath control is fantastic, and their presentation is extremely professional. I can not praise these young men enough. They are AWESOME!

I am so happy that Annie and Kelly are nominated for 8 awards! They deserve them all. These girls are real. I live near them and they are the same at the local restarant as they are on stage. They are a blessing.

The above web address is a good friend of mine, he is a gospel singer and that is his web page! Drop by and give him a hello and check out his site! He is a really good singer! Hey! I would love to see the SGM Awards but I don't think I will be able to make it! I was wondering if it will be on live TV or something! There are a lot of good people and groups nominated this year! I love the McRaes, The Crabbs, Gold City, Hoppers, and bunch more! They are great!

I just want to say "thank you" for the nomination of Third Promise for Female Group of the Year. This means so much to all of us who love these three young women so very much, whose ministry was drastically changed when Carla Jackson, my daughter, went Home to be with her Lord last May 7, due to a car accident that also involved another member of the group, Rena Hill. Although they are no longer able to continue this ministry here on earth as a group, this nomination only shows me that God's love is still being spread throughout the nation through the music of Third Promise. This was Carla's main goal in life--to tell others about her Lord and what He could do for them in their lives. Again, thank you for this nomination. You just don't know what this means to me.
