Coming off of the heels of his hit song “Don’t Cry For Me”, which has remained in the Christian Voice Charts for over 7 months and literally touches lives every where it is performed at, veteran southern gospel soloist, Rick Alan King has just released his latest project titled, “My Journey: Then and Now”, a collection of 12 of his most requested and charting songs from four of his prior projects plus one all new recording of the old hymn of the church, “The Haven of Rest” with very special guests and friends, Troy and Katy Peach. Rick, Troy and Katy performed this at The National Quartet Convention last September to a very responsive audience. The song was arranged and produced by Rick, Jeff Duffield, Chris Latham and Tom Sabella. Rick says, “I have always had a special feeling for those old hymns that I was raised on and always include many in every concert I perform at, regardless of the venue. They still that certain something.”
Rick also adds that 2011 was one of his best years ever musically, with great concerts and product sales and yet worst years with his wife Lana who was diagnosed with a very aggressive type of breast cancer and had 2 surgeries and 33 radiation treatments. Rick states, “What true fear shot through me when we first found out of this horrible disease. You know, you always hear of these things affecting someone else, but this time we was that someone else. With lots of faith and prayer, we plan on going right on, full steam ahead and as a line from a great Dottie Rambo song says, “… and defeat is one word I won’t use”.
Rick recently signed with Millennium Music Group and Premiere Talent and Management, a division of Wilds and Associates of Millport AL and is also getting ready to do an all updated and user friendly web site and that should be completed by late winter.
