When SSQ hits the state you should expect a lot of singing, and very little talking. We do not come to preach, but sing. He should expect a program geared very much toward making an enjoyable evening of laughter, well rehearsed music, and a message in song that God still reigns A "tribute" is an expression of honor, respect, or high regard. So, it's no coincidence the name Tribute Quartet so aptly fits these men and their mission to honor the music, singers, and Spiritual messages that have so definitively shaped gospel music down through the years Bob's ultimate dream was to move to Jim Bakker’s Morningside Community. We visited there a few weeks ago, and we stopped and prayed there on the grounds that God would grant Bob’s wish. But instead, God took him to a better place. He will be missed Whether it be the piano player acting crazy, or one of us trying to make the other one laugh, it's always interesting. We've been able to bridge the generation gap with a mixture of good songs, and humor to keep old and young people coming to see us. When Grannie Bishop wasn't able to come hear us sing at church because of her health, we recorded an album so she could still hear her son and grandsons sing.  He has been a consistent witness to the gospel in song for most of his life, and he is one of those special people who earned renown in more than one genre of music. Still, it’s southern styled gospel music that Buford Abner will be most fondly remembered for.
 Bands and live music were not what made this music so popular. This genre has NEVER been based on the band. It's always been based on vocals and harmony. Why do you think that we called them "All Night Sings" for years?
 How many times do we say things and behave in ways that are selfish and short-sighted? The Lord has a plan for your life. He knows your strengths and your weaknesses and has planned your perfect path.
 The Bible, states and restates that Christ’s suffering as God’s sacrificial Lamb at Pilate’s Judgment Hall, followed by His death, burial, resurrection and ascension provided the “Double Cure” for humanity’s sin and sickness problems
 Radio airplay is the primary marketing outlet for gospel music. Stations pay for licenses from ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC and the proceeds are distributed to the songwriters and publishers. However, artists and labels have never been paid a performance royalty for over-the-air broadcasts
 We are smack dab in the middle of the infamous “rat race” and some days, it’s getting the best of us! On more than one occasion, we’ve felt worn out and a little overwhelmed at our schedules and all the while, we were promising ourselves we’d slow down, soon
 This transition was hard for me because it was a surprise and I wanted a chance to try to make the transition with the team that I had built. But, in retrospect I suppose that wasn’t in God’s plan and with the direction this church eventually took I know it wasn’t for me
  There are a lot of times that people in the audience, even though they are untrained as singers, can tell that a singer sounds “off” in his or her singing. Not singing on key, or on pitch, is usually the reason singers sound “off” even to untrained listeners.
 I've been noticing that one of the hot topics these days is where Southern Gospel is going, and how to best describe it. There seems to be some disagreement as to what is "traditional", what is "contemporary" or "progressive", or even if those latter two categories should even be considered
 In my opinion, if Dianne Wilkinson accidently cut her finger she would bleed Southern Gospel music. “It is very dear to my heart”, she told me. She also loves her church, Springhill Baptist Church, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, pastored by her brother, James Branscum

 Greetings from the long lost quartet!! Actually we haven't been lost just extremely busy! but then again what else is new. Last month we were involved in a couple of events that were, in our opinion, highlights for us
 David has had his songs recorded by just about every major group in our industry. He has also had songs recorded in country, bluegrass, pop, R&B and probably Polka if the truth be told. Well if you've seen The LeFevre Quartet, you know that songwriting is not the only talent that David has
 We decided to look for a way to reach out to the young people so what better to do that than give away free stuff and call it "The Give". Why such a classy title? LOL! Well when you are giving something away, why waste words? Just call it what "it" is
