2003 Wimauma Convention moves to Auburndale, FL
Pastor Bill & Sally Bailey have announced that their 2003 Gospel Music Convention will be held at the Gathering Place in Auburndale, Florida on Monday-Saturday, February 3-8, 2003. This new, 3000-seat facility will provide all of the amenities necessary for this Convention. A separate 500-seat auditorium will also be used for the daytime chapel services and matinee concerts. Auburndale is centrally located in Florida, just off I-4 approximately halfway between Tampa and Orlando.
The change from the previous location in Wimauma, Florida became necessary due to the Florida Church of God’s new administration and more restrictive policies concerning use of the Wimauma Convention Center. Under these new regulations, it was deemed that the needs of this Convention could not be met. Pastor and Sister Bailey would like to thank the Florida Church of God for their hosting of this event during the past decade, and pray God’s continued blessing upon the denomination under their new leadership. Pastor Bailey's Winter Gospel Music Convention has become southern gospel's largest concert event during the winter time. Many southern gospel fans from the north find a winter refuge in the warm climate of Florida for this event. The 2003 Convention features one of the strongest line-ups ever, with such artists as Greater Vision, Kirk Talley, Gold City, McKameys, Dove Brothers, Chuck Wagon Gang, Perrys, Florida Boys, and many others. Guest speakers include Mark Trammell, Randy Perry, Jerry Goff, and Pastor Bill Bailey.
