The National Quartet Convention is pleased to announce a partnership with the Southern Gospel Promoters Association. Under the leadership of Jim Hefner, the SGPA has organized itself into a cohesive group of prominent promoters the likes of which our industry has never seen. The NQC believes that this organization will serve as an important entity for advocacy to address the needs and concerns of southern gospel promoters.

The NQC and the SGPA reached an agreement that would provide access to the NQC in much the same way the NQC offers access to media outlets. Media outlets are given all-access credentials to the NQC in exchange for that media outlet covering the event. In a similar fashion, members of the SGPA will be given an all-access credential in exchange for that promoter promoting the NQC at all of their concerts. “The problem with offering this credential in the past was that there was no way to verify the professionalism and validity of someone who claimed to be a promoter,” states Clarke Beasley, Executive Vice President of the National Quartet Convention. “The membership criteria for the SGPA are such that membership in SGPA verifies the viability of those promoters. Therefore, we can offer to the entire membership of the SGPA the same entry benefits that we have offered to media in the past. We are thrilled that we are now able to do this and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the SGPA and all of its individual members.”

This partnership begins immediately and access to the NQC will be offered to SGPA members starting at the 2004 NQC. Congratulations are due to Jim Hefner for arranging this benefit for the SGPA.
