Garry Beavers Health Update
Dear Friends,
We appreciate so very much all your prayers for Garry Beavers, tenor singer for The Apostles of Little Rock (Son Sound Music Platinum Artists). Garry is still admitted at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock after having suffered a stroke in the rear quandrant of the brain last Tuesday. Doctors have put Garry through a full series of tests and have determined that his stroke was isolated to the one area of the brain. It's cause is not officially known, but doctors think that complications caused by a diabetic condition as well as slightly increased cholesterol levels may have been the culprit. An artereogram performed on Monday of this week has revealed that there are no signs of clotting and all the passageways are clear. The only impairment Garry is suffering at this point is continued vertigo-type symptoms (extreme dizziness, headache, nauseau, etc), but doctors say these will improve and eventually go away as the brain heals itself. He is doing better and better every day, in fact, was able to watch the Razorback football game last Saturday in his hospital room and did great (at least until that last call by the ref)!
I join Garry's family and the other Apostles in thanking you deeply for lifting Garry up in your prayers. Please continue to remember him that God will give him a quick and speedy recovery, and be back singing. He will remain in his regular hospital room through this week and then be moved to the re-hab unit for another 7-10 days before being discharged for home. The Apostles are finishing preparations for laying vocals on their next Platinum Records project due for release this winter.
In His Service,
Rick Smith
