“Beautiful Day” Receives Rave Review
Beautiful Day, the newest CD from The Dunaways on the Family Music Group label, was designated the runner-up album of the month review from a top music executive in the October 2003 issue of Power Source Music Magazine.
The review reads:
The Dunaways | Beautiful Day
By Robert Herndon
Produced by Les Butler, The Dunaway family along with Lawayne Rials bring to us a 12 song collection (with a reprise of the final song) of nicely woven material that sits well in a Gospel format, or stretched out to a Christian Country sound. Vocally, this is one of the stronger albums I've heard in long time with the talents of Tammy and Kanah Dunaway especially standing out, (this is clearly evident on "I'll Cry All My Teardrops." My favorite song on the album would definitely be "Calvary Still Touches Me." The arrangement of the material sounds wonderful, and the excellent work of laying material like this has been done the same way so many times, it's nice to hear a refreshing version handed to the listener.
Kanah (who I understand is around 19) definitely has the strongest voice of the quartet, although Tammy can hold her own without hesitation. I hope to hear more music coming from Randall, Tammy, Kanah, and Lawayne in the future. From what they've accomplished here, they've already set the bar very high.
