The Melody Masters Quartet (MMQ), one of Southern Gospel Music's most critically acclaimed male quartets of the late 1990's, will be making select appearances throughout the United States during 2004. Original members Roger Burnett, Chris Roberts, Richard Sanders, and Scott Whitener will be reuniting to recreate their awesome sound in select concert venues during the upcoming year.

The MMQ, who were Journey recording artists, were singing over 200 concert dates per year and had appeared on National Quartet Conventions in Red Deer, Alberta and Hamilton, Ontario (Canada), and, of course, the main stage in Louisville, Kentucky. Family matters led original members to leave the road one by one beginning in 1999, and Scott Whitener officially retired the group in 2001. Due to the appealing sound and presentation of MMQ, recordings and videos continue to receive airplay throughout the USA.

Roger Burnett and Richard Sanders are both enjoying retirement since leaving the road. Roger continues to live in Chesnee, SC while Richard lives in Forest City, NC. While they have continued to sing in regional quartets since leaving the MMQ, they are immensely excited about reuniting with Chris and Scott for the MMQ's reunion tour. Without a doubt, Roger is one of the smoothest blending baritones ever, and Richard's rich tones and natural depth is rarely surpassed by bass singers in Southern Gospel Music.

Chris Roberts and Scott Whitener have both returned to local church music ministry since leaving the road. Chris is serving as Minister of Music at the 2,500- member Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC. The 150-voice Choir and Orchestra present seasonal productions and often make appearances at both state and regional Southern Baptist events. In 2002, Chris was recognized by a national association as one of the 20 most outstanding worship leaders in the United States. Scott, who remains one of Southern Gospel Music's most recognizable and popular singers, is serving with his father, the legendary Dick Whitener in ministry at the Ragan Church in Bessemer City (Gastonia), NC. Scott is leading a growing music ministry in one of the area's fastest growing churches.

The "Power and Praise" Tour will encompass several regional concerts in the early months of 2004, particularly in the North Carolina piedmont where the original group was extremely popular, and then climax with a tour of major US metropolitan areas in the remaining months of the new year.
