Nashville, TN - Gold City joined family and friends recently for the debut of First Class, their newest recording on the Cathedral Records label. At Nashville's nostalgic 101st Airborne restaurant, guests watched as planes took off from the adjoining runways of Nashville's International Airport and listened as the award-winning quartet played songs from and answered questions about the First Class project.

On hand to lend a few words were booking agent Beckie Simmons and Cathedral Records President, Todd Payne, who both admitted their obvious excitement over the new project. The group's current project, Walk the Talk, yeilded two top ten hits. Plans for a debut single from First Class will be announced soon, according to Cathedral Records.

The retail street date for the recording is September 15. However attendees of the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, KY will be able to pick up their copies of the project as early as Monday the 13th. Gold City performs three nights during the week-long event in Louisville.

For many, the NQC appearance will not only be their first chance to hear the newest recording, but it will also be an opportunity to see the group with their newest member, Steve Ladd. Ladd , who makes his Gold City recording debut on the First Class record, fills the tenor position recently vacated by Jay Parrack.

Does anyone know if these great Southern Gospel groups ever come to the north east area?
New England doesn't seem to get much of this style of music, and the groups don't frequent our area.
I have only seen the Gaither Homecoming, in Worcester, Ma. This is great, but I love to hear Gold City, and the many other great gifted groups!
Any infomation would be helpful....... thanks!!!
