(Goodlettsville, TN) – The Marvin Norcross Award is given to Southern Gospel’s top contributors and most highly respected individuals. The selection criteria includes devotion to the family, church, community affairs and the Southern Gospel Music industry. This prestigious award is named for Marvin Norcross, an individual of highest integrity. Mr. Norcross was Vice-President of Word, Incorporated and President of Canaan Records.

The 2004 Marvin Norcross award went to a husband and wife team that exemplifies all of the above qualities. This was the first time in the history of the award that it has been presented to a duo and no one was as fitting as Eddie and Janice Crook of the Eddie Crook Company. Celebrating over 40 years in the Southern Gospel industry as an artist, songwriter, producer and record company president, Eddie Crook has brought many gospel music artists national success while Janice was working along side him as the office manager and keeping things going on the home front.

“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award,” states the Crooks. “We are grateful to Maurice Templeton, Jerry Kirksey and Danny Jones for this honor.”
