New NC Gospel Hall Of Honor Book Underway

MADISON, NC -- Although time is quickly running out, organizers of the newly chartered North Carolina Gospel Hall of Honor continue to assemble information for a special literary project, being developed in conjunction with Woodland Gospel Publishing House, of Chapmanville, WV. The upcoming hard-bound book will primarily focus on the impact North Carolina has made on the Gospel music industry.

This completed volume will promote and extensively document the state’s influence in gospel music, in all of its various forms. It will feature artists, promoters, producers and individuals who have contributed to the national gospel music industry. The hardbound volume is tentatively scheduled for release in the last quarter of 2005. The primary author for the project is Henrietta Brown, along with co-author F. Keith Davis, who is the co-founder of Woodland Gospel Publishing and author of the upcoming biography of The Hoppers.

Although the deadline is fast approaching, all gospel music artists -- including soloists, trios, quartets and mixed groups -- and promoters, ministers, deejays, record producers and technicians who have North Carolina roots are invited to contribute to this project by sending biographical information and a photo to: ; or Woodland Gospel Publishing, 118 Woodland Dr., Chapmanville, WV 25508.

Claude, Dean and Mike Hopper, Dennis Sparks, Rick Webb and several others from the North Carolina music industry have spearheaded the North Carolina Gospel Hall of Honor project.

Current plans call for the North Carolina Gospel Hall of Honor to be strategically located in Madison, NC, and will ultimately include a variety of features for gospel music fans and tourists to the state.

Thanks so much for helping us spread the word about this project! We have had great response thus far, hearing from groups and individuals. We know, however, that there are some really well-known groups who have failed to contact us. We appreciate your help in making this an all-inclusive book to let the world know that North Carolina is one of the richest places in the world when it comes to sharing the Gospel in word and song!
