If you are wondering about the future of Southern Gospel Music, you simply need to put on this CD and you can rest assured that SG will be around for a long time. These guys are young and you can see that somewhat in their voices, but their harmony and timing is fantastic.

Composed mostly of cover songs, they do a great job of not trying to duplicate every move made by the original artists. Some of the covered songs include “Stand Up”, “You Can Walk On The Water”, “John, The Revelator”, and “When We All Get Together”

However they have recorded three songs written and co-written by group members David Campbell and Joe Baumgard. “Servant’s Prayer”, co-written by David and Joe is a very worshipful song of dedication to the Lord. Nice harmonies and the track is simple with guitars and keyboard, yet very pretty.

“Spiritual” was penned by David and the message of this song is appropriate for today. It is certainly worthy of being the title song of the recording. David also wrote “Someday”, which starts out with a modern sound on the guitars, but settles into a real SG mode. The message is strong and the delivery excellent.

As their voices mature, this group is bound to get stronger vocally.  This is a group to be looking for in the future.

I had written up a review of this CD yesterday not realizing Deon had already covered it. My rating is half a notch under Deon's . . . 3 stars . . .

"Heaven's Harmony hails from Mansfield, OH. Their CD Spiritual has a number of good elements including quality music tracks and variety in song selection. Eight cover songs are joined by two originals written by tenor singer David Campbell and another co-written by Campbell and baritone Joe Baumgard. On the minus side, the vocal harmonies aren't quite gelling in a few spots and there's a lack of balance in singing style between the voices, most noticeaby between the tenor and the bass voices. The first four tracks come across more convincingly than the last seven. Packaging quality is about average. In fact, when all things are considered, Spiritual averages out to average."
