Life Is Good
![]() In last month’s article, I mentioned that my husband, Tim, was put on oxygen. That seemed kind of random, so I thought I would elaborate a little on his story. Tim was diagnosed with a genetic lung disease called Alpha 1 – Antitrypsin deficiency the summer of 2000 right after he surrendered to the ministry call. Tim and I found ourselves sitting in a doctor’s office in Biloxi, Mississippi – for a second opinion – being told that he would not live a long life. This disease was usually discovered in people in their mid thirties, and many at that age were already in wheelchairs and on oxygen. Before the shock wore off, we hoped for things like Tim seeing our children grown, or at least graduated from high school. It wasn’t fair. We had lived some tough years in the Air Force and were looking forward to things being better in our future with only two years until retirement. We had already been singing with a church group for almost ten years and had just formed The Quicks with our two daughters, even though they were only 13 and 10 years old. We had hopes and dreams. It just wasn’t fair. Reader Comments
I've come to learn in my life that it's not what happens to me, it's what I think about what happens to me in life that makes or breaks me. I can see through the lives of the Quicks, they have learned the same lesson.

Hi Guys - I've seen you go through the "hard times" you are talking about...I continually pray for Tim's health...his love for "His" ministry is strong enough that there is no doubt that he WILL stay healthy enough to do all that the Lord has planned for your family. I recently heard him "preach" for the first time - "his" sermon was very good, and better presented than a LOT I've heard by "seasoned" ministers.
I have "bugged" you so much about this, but I have to do it one more time-I love all your releases, especially "Its a Sure Thing", however, I would love to see what "The Uniform" could do on the radio. It is my opinion that its the best patrotic song since "God Bless the USA". Be blessed, my friends....love Monna

So right!
I received this email today from a friend, and it said just about the same thing..... ATTITUDE There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head. "Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today."? So she did and she had a wonderful day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. H-M-M, " she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today."? So she did and she had a grand day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "Today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and she had a fun, fun day. The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head. "YEAH!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"
