Greetings in the name of JESUS CHRIST! I hope and pray that each of your summer season has begun well. I am really grateful that many of you prayed for my wife and me while in Nashville. We truly missed a blessing by not being there to fellowship and worship with you all.

But sometimes family situations do arise and need to be taken care of. Some might wonder what I am talking about so, briefly I will explain. My mother-in-law just finished chemotherapy for breast cancer a few months ago. So when Lori, my wife, went for her annual check-up it never crossed my mind that something could be wrong. I mean our daughter is expecting her first grandchild the last of June and God once again had delivered me from a bad round of depression. So we were on top of the world-correct? Well when the doctor's office called and told us Lori's mammogram was suspicious and further testing would be required, needless to say my world crumbled. See Lori has been my strong right arm in the ministry and , outside of JESUS, I lean on her the most. So the Tuesday we were to be in Nashville we were sitting at St. Vincent Hospital in Birmingham having further tests. But PRAISE be to GOD all the tests returned normal and the doctor said whatever was there is NOT there now! GOD is a GREAT GOD ALL THE TIME! So "THANK" you all for your many prayers, phone calls and emails but PLEASE give GOD all the credit.

I will return to the subject of promoting our singings for the LORD. I know everyone has felt the pinch with sky rocketing gas and diesel fuel. Brothers and Sisters we are headed for some hard, hard times in the days to come. And, as promoters, we must be very diligent to continue to do things the right way in promoting Southern gospel music. We must find ways to get people to our singings. So the time has come that we must put aside any jealousy, or maybe hard feelings, and work as a team or else Southern gospel music will suffer.

The groups, the men and women and their families, who travel countless miles and spend nights away from home are depending on us. Now, yes, we are going to hear from the naysayer who will say that they should sell that big bus-but if they do, how will they travel? Where will they spend those nights while on the road? Have you priced motel rooms lately? Who will haul their equipment from place to place? So I am urging each promoter to do all that they can to help each other. We should do all we can to help a fellow promoter with promotion of their singings and go a step further to see if we can get a group over to help sell a singing out! See GOD is all about team work. So when one promoter starts to have difficulty, then it won't be long until we all will experience the same as we are all facing like trials.

Recently during a concert here at the church with the Kingsmen and Southmen Quartets I decided to take a love offering with every dime going to these groups just because fuel is so high. Now you're asking did you sell tickets for the event. Yes we did! But as the promoter I handled this issue myself and made a plea to everyone there to help keep Southern gospel music rolling. You know I did not have the first complaint. And we took up around $350, in addition to the tickets we had sold. So there are ways but we have got to be willing to do it if we want this industry to survive this energy crisis. So promoters let us all work together for GOD'S KINGDOM!

After this singing GOD reminded me of a great verse of scripture that gives hope to us through the hard days that we are all facing. Psalms 37:25 tells us all; I have not seen the righteous forsaken, not HIS seed begging bread. GOD is GOOD ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!
