Debra Talley - Seasons of the Heart
Producer: Jeff Collins/Roger Talley
This recording features all previously released material from her solo recording and early Talley Trio recordings. Many of these songs have become trademark songs for her and will live on in infamy. Some became classics back in the original Talley days in the 1980s, some have come around in more recent years, but all feature the heartfelt vocal that is characteristically Debra Talley. Debra has created her own niche in Southern Gospel Music and has become the Queen of the ballad, and this recording, by no means, runs short on ballads. Songs such as “I DON’T BELONG” and “THINKIN’ ‘BOUT HOME” (my very favorite Debra Talley song), all bring hope of a better day. A couple of the songs carry messages of determination and faith such as “I’M WALKING ON”, “BECAUSE SOMEONE PRAYED” and “LIFE IS HARD (GOD IS GOOD)”. Many of the songs such as “GOD TOOK AWAY MY YESTERDAYS”, “HE DIDN’T LEAVE ME”, “PART OF THE FAMILY”, “THERE IS A ROAD HOME”, “NO OTHER WORD FOR GRACE (BUT AMAZING)”, “GOD TAKES GOOD CARE OF ME” and “HE SAW ME” offer the blessed hope of salvation along with reassurance and encouragement to those who may need it most. Debra has remained true to her style and has been consistent in delivering some of the finest singing to be found anywhere. She has it all…depth, quality, emotion and just that special “something” that makes her unique and in a class all by herself. Personal Favs: I DON’T BELONG; THINKIN’ ‘BOUT HOME; LIFE IS HARD (GOD IS GOOD); HE DIDN’T LEAVE ME; NO OTHER WORD FOR GRACE; HE SAW ME Reader Comments

Great Review James!
Debra Talley is about the classiest lady I know. I have loved the voice since I was a kid. The Talleys are special people and hold a special place in my heart. And musically, it just doesn't get any better than "Thinkin' Bout Home" and "He Saw Me." WOW

Dear James, Deon, Susan, et al,
We thank you and SoGospelNews for another favorable and finely written review. A previous post by Larry H said it well and pretty much said it all. I will add that Debra Talley is an elegant, dedicated, lovely Christian lady. We are extremely blessed to have The Talley Trio on our Horizon label. Their talent is incredible, their humility inspiring. Jim Stover Crossroads Music Group

I have not heard all of this album, but I must say- after seeing the Talley Trio and SSQ in concert last week. I was very impressed with The Talley Trio. Great sound as always, but this was the best I had ever heard them!
And everytime I have seen Debbie she always conducts herself on and off the stage as classy, professional, and she is what young women need to look at to model themselves after a Godly woman. Keep up the good work Debbie!

Wow 5 stars! She is a very nice lady and yes she is classy but....... 5 stars? We need to step back and really try to listen to all the things that make up a rating of 5 stars Talent ... production.... And so on I would have to give this album 4 stars because even though it is very good it would not take the 5 star position for me!

But you have to admit, with a CD full of songs that were either hits, fan favorites, or concert favorites, and songs that are simply identified with Debra Talley, how can one not conceivable give 5 stars? Granted, some of the production is not up to 2004 standards (some of these were recorded probably close to 5-6 years ago.) But this recording is a compilation...a "best of" recording of songs identified with Talley. With that reasoning in mind, this is why I gave the CD 5 stars.
