Good evening, everyone! Or should I say Goodnight? lol
I’m thinking about getting a new job. I’ve been employed by Dairy Queen for the past 16 days, and have been scheduled to work 13 of them, but have only been allowed to work 5 of them. I’m supposed to call in about 30 minutes before my shift to see if they’re busy and show up 10 minutes before my shift starts. This past week(Tues - Tues) I haven’t worked at all. I’m getting a bit upset, so I’m starting to look for a new job. All employees are hired and given a 30 ‘probation’ or ‘trial period’ and are kept on staff pending on how quickly they learn and how well they work. My question now, is, how am I supposed to learn and get faster at serving customers, if I’m not even allowed to come work my shifts? My boss and trainer tell me not to come in when I call or tell me to go home after I just walked up there because no one answered the phone when I did call.
Okay, off my rant. A nice thing that happened today.
Well, I couldn’t fall asleep last night, I was up until after 3 am tossing and turning, so I was still asleep at 2 pm, when I woke up to my sweet Tyler calling me. He was just calling to talk and ‘spend time with’ me since we hadn’t talked in a while, while he was waiting at the airport for his flight to his next Navy stationing. He’s such a sweet guy. It’s gonna be an interesting 2 years. This is taking our long distance relationship to new levels. I mean, we’ve never been this far apart since we met. Now we’re 43 hrs 12 mins / 2617.74 miles away from each other and he’s 3 time zones behind me. I guess that would make it easier for me to not wake him up if I decide to call him around 11, though. lol He’s always going to bed around 9 - 9:30, and I’ll think of something we should talk about around 11 and almost call him, but then think better of it cause he’d be asleep. Now it will only be 8 his time, when I think of calling him at 11 my time. lol
I would definitely look for something else if they’re not going to provide you with the opportunity to work!! How many people are they doing that to???
I’m having a little trouble getting my engine started today. I would prefer to be just about anywhere other than w**k, but that’s not really an option! So, I’ll just try to make the best of it!
And a good morning from Ohio too. The sun is shining brightly and depending on which weather forecast I believe, it is to be between 76 and 81 today. My temp guage already says it is 77 so I’m thinking it will be OVER 81!!! Time will tell.
Good morning everyone! I’m working right now as only 2 of us are supposed to be at the hospital during visitg hours. I’m only 5 minutes away if I’m needed. Hope you all have a great day.

Nice thread title.
I’m looking at the other fast food places around home. We have 5 within a 10 minute walk from my door. I’m not sure how many people this is happening to. I have a strange feeling that it’s just me and maybe the young guy they just hired this past week.

Good afternoon. Just realized I didn’t say good morning. I just got back from a quick trip to Walmart for printer ink and a couple other things. Boy oh Boy is it hot! Suppose to be in the mid to high 90s. I’m sure the heat index is already there.
