Charleston, WV is home of the longest running New Years Sing! It returns this weekend with one of the greatest talent lineups ever featuring Tony Gore, Michael Combs, The Greenes, The Kingsmen, The Jody Brown Indian Family and Ricky Atkinson and Compassion. This year the sing will be held on Saturday night December 30th at 6pm at the famed Municipal auditorium, home of the concert since the 60’s!

Tony Gore says “We decided to move the concert this year from it’s normal New Years Eve night because New Years Eve falls on a Sunday night and we did not want to interfere with any Church activities planned for Sunday night.”

This years event promises to be one you don’t want to miss, make your plans now to bring in the New Year in Charleston, WV! Tickets are available through Ticket Master and the Charleston Civic Center Box Office.

I used to attend that event every year. I recall in 1976 the groups were: Calvarymen, Conrad Cook & Gospel Echoes, Willie Wynn & Tennesseans, Telestials, Segos & Kingsmen.
