CliffCerce's avatar Anita and I heard The Dixie Echoes in concert last week in Fultondale, Alabama and it was one of the best concerts I have ever attended - and that's quite a statement from an old man like me!

They were dead-on with their pitches and sang with incredible energy and enthusiasm. Their arrangements were very well done - with passages of close harmony and "modern" harmony (a term that has historically referred to the "block" harmony stylings of Glenn Miller's Modernaires of the Big Band era).

Their blend was studio-perfect, even though the four men sang on just 2 microphones - creating their own blend. All songs were accompanied by Stewart on the piano with Randy Jr playing the bass on most numbers, and the accompaniment lacked for nothing.

I was thrilled musically and stirred spiritually as Randy challenged the excited crowd that night with spiritual truths and words of reassurance and hope.

And, many of the songs that thrilled me the most are the songs listed on their new CD. We play their previous CD often as we travel down the road, and I would have certainly purchased this new one if it had been available that night. I will certainly purchase a copy next month when I see them at NQC.

I heartily recommend their music to everyone who likes good tight harmonies, imaginative arrangements, and fervent spirited singing.
